Architect and developer Thomas Roszak's Vetro in Chicago's South Loop is a 31-story high-rise wrapped in glass from top to bottom. Glass balconies were added and an option for some interior walls to be made from translucent materials so more natural light can penetrate the units in Vetro, which means "glass" in Italian, said Roszak, president of Roszak/ADC. Amenities include a fitness center and the commercial spaces will be allotted to eclectic restaurants and retail. Prices start in the mid-$100,000s and go up to $6000,000; penthouses range from the mid-$700,000s to high $800,000s. Ground will be broken in spring 2006. A sales center is on-site at Harrison and Wells. |
