New Construction
Vetro South Loop, Chicago
Chicago Agent
10/23/2006

Architect and developer Thomas Roszak has brought a modern design aesthetic to Chicago’s south loop neighborhood with Vetro, a 31-story high-rise that is wrapped in glass from top to bottom.
The transition from indoor to outdoor is blurred by the clear glass that runs from floor-to-ceiling in each of the building’s units. Roszak added glass balconies and an option for some interior walls to be made from translucent materials so more natural light can penetrate the homes in Vetro, which means “glass” in Italian.
Every unit in Vetro is individually designed to make the best use of living space and maximize the views. Roszak is introducing modern materials for cabinets, fixtures and even the walls. Floor plans are creatively laid out for residents that don’t want a traditional dining room or den.
Roszak has selected amenities that appeal to the active professionals who make up the bulk of south loop buyers. The building includes a fitness center that accommodates yoga and Pilates classes led by certified instructors and commercial spaces will be allotted to eclectic restaurants or retail that reflect the character of the neighborhood.
Roszak has also enlisted the talents of light sculptor John David Mooney to create a display in the Vetro lobby reflecting the buildings theme of glass and light.
Prices for units will start in the mid-$100,000s and go up to $600,000. Penthouses will occupy the top two floors and range from the mid-$700,000s to the mid-$900,000s. Roszak/ADC is giving new MINI Coopers to any licensed agents that bring five buyers to contract. And for representing one buyer the agent receives $2,500 in advance of the 2.5 percent commission. Agents who tour the sales center are treated to lunch.
Roszak/ADC broke ground on vetro in the Spring of 2006 and plans first occupancy for fall 2007. A sales center is on-site at the corner of Harrison and Wells streets.
