Add as much natural light as you can with skylights in an entry, master bath or dining room. They will change the feeling of the house and can work even in traditional home and aren't expensive to do. Another way to do is to enlarge one window. Switch room purposes: Make the family room the living room and vice versa or a bedroom and study. You'll have a different circulation pattern with different furniture and get different views, inside and outside, and think of the entire house differently. Just because your dining room has been your dining room for 25 years doesn't mean it has to remain that way. |
