Phasing is an abstract uniting principle and a structural element that, in the Roszak/ADC model, holds every multipart project together. For Evanston's Chicago Avenue Place (CAP), our commitment to the community made us specifically Evanston architects. As Evanston architects, we designed and presented CAP to the city of Evanston as a single, coherent project and insisted that phase one would be complete only after the first building was finished and the adjoining courtyard finished and landscaped. As Evanston architects, we wanted people to move into a home in a community neighborhood. As Evanston architects, the individual Evanston homeowner is our primary concern. As Evanston architects, we want to provide individuals, couples and families in the community with homes that are developed with financial integrity, designed to assure their physical comfort and built with efficient, environmentally responsible construction methods and materials. As Evanston architects, we want our homeowners to know that their financial investment is an asset that will contribute to the economic viability of their community. As Evanston architects, we design our homes to contribute to the community's quality of life. As Evanston architects, we are proud to see that on the site of Chicago Avenue Place, where a service station once stood, a community of homeowners has grown and become part of the city of Evanston. The city identifies Roszak/ADC as an Evanston architect and points to Chicago Avenue Place as a benchmark of good development. As Evanston architects, we consider it one of our most successful projects.
